Title: Coordinator of Curriculum (PreK - 5th Grade)

 

 

SummaryThe purpose of this position is to provide leadership and instructional support for the instructional continuum from PreK to 5th grade in Anderson Five. This person will ensure teachers have the resources and support needed to deliver high-level instruction and provide students with the richest educational experience the district must o?er. This position includes the duties and responsibilities below and functions as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.

 

QualificationsMaster’s degree, certi?cation in Early Childhood and elementary or equivalent, experience developing curriculum at a variety of grade levels, a minimum of 5 years teaching experience, ADEPT 4.0 training required, instructional coaching experience and/or training preferred; administrative degree or advanced degree in curriculum would be beneficial.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource person in curriculum and instruction across subject areas. 
  • Assist Principals and Instructional Services/Leaders in coordinating curriculum, professional development, and instructional improvement at the school and district levels.
  • Lead and review the revision of curriculum pacing guides as new standards are released or as needed.
  • Lead the development of benchmark assessments and follow trends in data to assist teachers.
  • Work with the Instruction Services department and school personnel to collect, analyze, and disseminate data at the teacher level.
  • Assist with the creation and organization of professional development opportunities for teachers.
  • Identifies and assists in ordering instructional materials for schools and with textbook adoptions.
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify strategies for instructional improvement upon request.
  • Assist with the creation and organization of professional development opportunities for teachers.
  • Model classroom lessons upon request.
  • Observe teachers to assess whether pacing is appropriate and expectations are high, while also offering targeted instructional feedback to improve outcomes when requested.
  • Keep abreast of current best practices and state mandates by reading and attending professional development sessions.
  • Establish strong collegial relationships with school leadership to provide instructional support as needed.
  • Treat the information, decisions, and communication involved as con?dential.
  • E?ectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

Contract: 240 Days
