Description

In the absence of the full time classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student's progress, and manages the learning environment.

  • Report to the assigned school each scheduled workday and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher in classrooms as assigned by school administration.
  • Follow lesson plans and instructional directions provided by the classroom teacher and/or administration.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, positive, and productive learning environment for students.
  • Provide appropriate supervision of students and consistently follow school and district expectations for student behavior and safety.
  • Carry out established classroom routines, procedures, and schedules.
  • Maintain professional and respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and visitors.
  • Protect the confidentiality of student, employee, and school information.
  • Follow all Anderson School District Five policies, procedures, safety requirements, and school-level expectations.
  • Be flexible and willing to work with students across various grade levels, subject areas, classrooms, and school settings based on daily needs.
  • When not assigned to a classroom, perform school-related duties and provide operational, instructional, clerical, supervisory, or other support as directed by school administration.
  • Assist with student supervision in areas such as arrival, dismissal, hallways, cafeteria, recess, or other school activities as assigned.
  • Support teachers and staff with appropriate school-related tasks when classroom coverage is not needed.
  • Respond professionally and appropriately to changing needs and assignments throughout the school day.
  • Use school technology, equipment, and resources appropriately and responsibly.
  • Communicate concerns regarding students, safety, behavior, or assigned responsibilities promptly to the appropriate administrator.
  • Demonstrate initiative, dependability, professionalism, and a willingness to contribute wherever support is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

High School diploma or GED is required. Hourly $13.33 / Hours 7:30 AM- 3:00 PM
