TITLE: In-School Suspension Supervisor - NOTE: this is a temporary substitute postion to be filled through January 31, 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid state high school diploma
Managerial skills which will allow program to function in accordance with approved inschool suspension policy
Social skills which would enhance verbal and written communication between students, teachers, counselors, and parents
Ability to coordinate and maintain accurate records relating to attendance, assignment sheets, activities, etc.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: Students who have been assigned to the inschool suspension program by the principal or assistant principal
JOB GOAL: To facilitate the inschool suspension program through leadership, supervision of students, managerial skills, and social skills so as to modify and enhance positive behavior of assigned students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises students who have been assigned to the inschool suspension class.
2. Implements daily schedule which provides for assigned work, study periods, breaks, lunch, etc. for assigned students.
3. Coordinates the routing of assignment sheets among teachers, students, and the administration.
4. Provides direction and information to students regarding regular curriculum assignments which are to be completed.
5. Enforces rules and regulations of inschool suspension program.
6. Maintains high standard of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according due process to the rights of students within the confines of Board policy.
7. Maintains constant contact with inschool suspension students at all times unless relieved by appropriate school personnel.
8. Maintains written records of attendance and reports student attendance to authorized school personnel.
9. Provides information to the principal, assistant principal, teachers, and/or counselor relating the progress, behavior, attitudes, etc., of students assigned to inschool suspension program.
10. Attends special conferences between parents of inschool suspension students and school officials.
11. Assumes duties as determined by the school principal or assistant principal, including other tasks when no students have been assigned to the inschool suspension class.
12. Participates in staff development programs.
13. Performs other duties as directed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Through January 31, 2025. Rate established by hiring agent, ESS.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal.
